Maximus had a unique gift for seeing those who felt unseen and lifting others up with kindness, compassion, and genuine friendship. By investing in students who share those qualities, we honor his legacy while helping them build meaningful futures.
Inspired by Maximus' passion for building, fixing, creating, and entrepreneurship, we place special emphasis on skilled trades and technical careers while supporting any career-focused education, training, certification, apprenticeship, or degree pathway that leads to employment and purpose.
Maximus had a heart for those who were often overlooked. In that same spirit, we believe skilled trades, technical careers, and other career-focused pathways deserve greater recognition and support. Through scholarships, mentorship, employer connections, and career exploration, we help students pursue meaningful futures—whether through apprenticeships, certifications, technical training, or traditional college degrees.
Each spring, the Maximus Munro Foundation awards scholarships to graduating seniors and recent graduates pursuing higher education, skilled trades, apprenticeships, technical certifications, and other career-focused pathways. Recipients are selected for their embodiment of Heart, Hustle & Honor through their character, work ethic, career aspirations, and commitment to lifting others up.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Nominations must be submitted by a teacher, coach, counselor, mentor, fellow student, or other trusted individual who can speak to the candidate's character and potential.

Today's students are tomorrow's builders, technicians, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. There are many ways to make a difference. Individuals can support through donations and volunteer mentorship, while businesses can partner through sponsorships, career exploration events, trade demonstrations, and participation in the annual car show. Together, we can create opportunities, develop future talent, and carry forward Maximus' legacy of lifting others up and never leaving people behind.
100% of donations directly impact students and programs. Board members volunteer their time and administrative labor is donated — every dollar goes toward scholarships, career exploration, and student support. Together, we can help students discover rewarding careers, build valuable connections, and create brighter futures.

One of Maximus' greatest gifts was making people feel seen. He had a special place in his heart for anyone who felt left out, overlooked, or alone — jokingly calling this mission the "Sad Potato Club." Whether inviting someone into a conversation or sitting with someone who was alone, Maximus instinctively made room for others.
When Maximus became interested in something, he dove all in. As a child, he spent hours studying ant colonies. Later he became fascinated with space and aviation, even beginning to earn flight hours at a young age. He loved discovering new interests and challenging himself every day.
Maximus was naturally drawn to hands-on work. From cars and boats to engines and dirt bikes, he was constantly tinkering, learning, and creating. He found deep satisfaction in solving problems and seeing the tangible results of his effort and ingenuity.
Maximus believed if you wanted something, you worked for it. At a young age he took on jobs, started small businesses, and found ways to earn money for his goals. Whether saving for his dirt bike, his BMW, or his next project, he understood hard work and discipline create possibilities.
Maximus had an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age — always looking for ways to solve problems and turn ideas into action. He wasn't afraid to try something new. His drive wasn't just about making money; it was about creating something of his own through hard work and ingenuity.
Maximus had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and important. Guided by a strong Christian faith, he lived with kindness, compassion, and a genuine desire to serve others. He was a loyal friend, a caring brother, and someone who never hesitated to offer encouragement, share what he knew, or lend a helping hand. Putting others before himself wasn't something he tried to do — it was simply who he was.
